Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:

– Xbox is closing down four of its Bethesda-run studios: Tango Gameworks (“The Evil Within”, “Ghostwire: Tokyo”), Alpha Dog (“Wraithborne”), Arkane Austin (“Dishonored”, “Redfall”) and Roundhouse Games (“Prey”, “Rune”).

– Per a memo by Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, which circulated on Tuesday, 7 May: “We are making these tough decisions to create capacity to increase investment in other parts of our portfolio and focus on our priority games.”

– Lay-offs across the shuttered studios are expected to occur, although it’s unknown how many employees will be impacted by it. Meanwhile, Roundhouse Games will merge with ZeniMax Online Studios, which is known for titles such as “The Elder Scrolls Online”, “Doom” and “Fallout 76”.

– According to reports, Arkane Austin were working on a series of game updates – including an offline mode – and DLC for “Redfall” before the studio was shuttered.

– Ahead of its 3 June release of “The Final Shape”, Bungie is giving all Playstation and PC players limited-time access to three “Destiny 2” expansions: “Shadowkeep”, “Beyond Light” and “The Witch Queen”. Each expansion will include its own campaign and raid.

– Additionally, “Destiny 2” players who are also PlayStation Plus members will gain access to the “Lightfall” expansion, which is notable for its Strand subclasses.
