Wednesday Gaming – Warner Bros., MultiVersus, Steam Update and MORE!

Catch up on the latest news, rumours and announcements from the world of video games, tech and entertainment:

– Warner Bros. are leaning towards focusing on developing mobile, free-to-play and live service games in the future due to the “volatile” nature of releasing AAA console games, specifically following the disappointing sales of their February title, “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League”.

– According to Warner Bros Discovery executive JB Perrette, Warner hopes to develop such games for four of their core franchises: DC, “Harry Potter”, “Game of Thrones” and “Mortal Kombat”.

– In other Warner-related news, crossover fighting game “MultiVersus” may be gearing up for an actual release after the beta version was shut down in July 2023. Rumours of the game getting a release date come after the official Twitter/X account (which was largely inactive) tweeted out this message on Tuesday, 5 March: “*taps mic* testing, testing, 1, 2, 3.”

– According to reports, developer Respawn is working on a spin-off game that is set in the “Titanfall” universe, meaning that it is NOT a sequel to “Titanfall 2”.

– Thanks to a new update, Steam users can now mark their games and apps as private. This will prevent other users from viewing the ownership of selected titles, as well as the in-game status and recent activity. Users can also now access their store cart across all devices and gift multiple users at once.

Check in again next week for the latest video game news – ’til then, keep up the button-mashing!
