Trump in Trouble with Sinéad O’Connor’s Estate

American presidential candidate, Donald Trump, has been using Sinéad O’Connor’s music at his rallies and both her estate and long-time label, Chrysalis Records, are unhappy about it.

The deceased singer’s estate spoke with an international publication on Monday, 4 March, telling them that it was “no exaggeration to say that Sinéad would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted” by his use of her songs.

According to reports, the estate and record label have issued a joint statement demanding that the 77-year-old politician stop using her renowned single, “Nothing Compares 2 U”, at his rallies.

The Irish songstress passed away at 56 years old last year due to natural causes. She was known to be outspoken about several issues, including mental health and problems in the Catholic church.

“Throughout her life, it is well known that Sinéad O’Connor lived by a fierce moral code defined by honesty, kindness, fairness, and decency towards her fellow human beings,” the statement said.

It went on to add: “It is no exaggeration to say that Sinéad would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted to have her work misrepresented in this way by someone who she herself referred to as a ‘biblical devil’.”
