Prince William Breaks Online Silence

Britain’s Prince William has broken his social media silence after his wife, Kate Middleton, announced her cancer diagnosis.

On 22 March, Middleton revealed in a video message that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy for cancer, which was found to be present in medical tests conducted after her abdominal surgery earlier this year.

“It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment,” the 42-year-old princess is heard saying. “But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to [our three children] George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be okay.”

Her husband William remained silent on social media until Wednesday, 10 April, following the news that English footballer, Rachel Daly – who played for the national women’s team, the Lionesses, as well as Aston Villa W.F.C. – was retiring.

“Thank you for so many unforgettable performances with @Lionesses, @RachelDaly3. Plenty more goals for Villa now! W. [sic],” he posted on both Twitter/X and Instagram Stories.

As mentioned by Middleton in her message, the 41-year-old prince has been a “great source of comfort and reassurance” during her time of need, so it’s clear that the royal couple are going strong amid all the public scrutiny.
