Namibia Through To World Cup Group Stages

Namibia has advanced to the group stages of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after their 2-0 win over Eritrea on Tuesday, 10 September, based on their 4-1 on aggregate.

The Brave Warriors were spirited and in control for most of the game, scoring a goal in each half.

Absalom limbondi lifted Warriors’ playing spirit when he dribbled past the Eritrean defence and scored the first goal within 24 minutes of kick-off.

In the second half, Namibia kept control of the game as Petrus Shitembi thrilled his hometown fans with his skilful play as he danced with the ball at will.

After several missed chances, it was only in added time that skipper Peter Shalulile scored a goal set out by substitute Willy Stephanus.

Coach Bobby Samaria the sang praises of his team after the match, saying his team were “never really bothered” by the Eritrean side.

Namibia now advances to the group stages for the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.
