Liverpool Crush Everton, Win Derby

The Merseyside derby saw Liverpool bash Everton F.C. on Wednesday night, 1 December, leaving the Blues bruised from a 4-1 beating.

The scoreboard saw its first change when Reds striker, Jordan Henderson, scored with an amazing, long-range punt in the ninth minute, right before he set up team-mate Mohamed Salah for the visitors’ second goal just ten minutes later.

Liverpool made the match look like one-way traffic until Everton’s Demarai Gray gave the Goodison Park home crowd a consolatory goal at the 38th minute to make the scoreboard 2-1 before the break.

However, the home-side’s hope quickly ran out after Salah capitalised on a Seamus Coleman error to make the score tally 3-1 at the 64th minute. To complete the night’s superb performance, Diogo Jota topped an exciting game with a last-minute goal with 12 minutes left on the clock.

The Reds have endured terrible luck at Goodison Park, with only a single win from their last nine visits to the grounds, and this change in fortune was echoed in soccer boss Jurgen Klopp’s post-match interview.

He said: “It was for sure the best performance at Goodison since I have been at Liverpool. We had some good games here but never as good or convincing as tonight.”
