Zidane Pushes Madrid to Win La Liga Title

Real Madrid have lifted their first La Liga silverware since 2017, with a 2-1 victory over Villarreal CF on Thursday night, 16 July, at their training ground, Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, in Spain’s capital.
When Los Blancos president, Florentino Perez, reappointed Zinedine Zidane as the head coach of the team, many fans criticized the move.
However, Perez believed that Zidane was the best manager to launch the club into “a glorious new era”.
Within two years of his astonishing return, the 48-year-old French manager has won the La Liga title and his team is in its best form, having won all 10 of their matches since the Spanish football competition restarted in June.
Zizou believes the squad came back from the lockdown revitalised, determined and ready to battle for the La Liga trophy.
He said: “After lockdown, there was something very particular, I could see it in training. The players wanted something.”
Madrid defender, Sergio Ramos, sang Zidane’s praises, saying everything he “touches turns into gold”.
