Manchester United, midfielder Nemanja Matic, is reportedly considering leaving the club in the January transfer window.

The 31-year-old Serbian international – who signed with the Red Devils in 2017 for £35 million, rising to £40 million – has made only three appearances in the English Premier League this season.

In addition, Matic apparently wants to represent his home country of Serbia should they qualify for next summer’s Euro 2020 tournament.

This opportunity – along with a lack of gameplay – is said to be the reason behind the midfielder’s desire to exit from United.

According to reports, Matic’s contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, and the club are willing to let him go in January if they can find a replacement. However, they could potentially trigger a one-year extension in his contract to avoid losing him on a free transfer.

Only time will tell what Matic’s next step will be.
