Tottenham Trounce Tough Marseille

Tottenham Hotspur had a rough go at it on Wednesday, 7 September, but the final score of 2-0 was in their favour as they beat a determined Olympique de Marseille.
The UEFA Champions League (UCL) game saw the home side struggling against the French Ligue 1 giants, but the Lilywhites held fast.
However, the second half saw Tottenham hungrily claw their way back into the game after Marseille lost Chancel Mbemba three minutes in for a red-card foul on Son Heung-min, with Richarlison scoring both goals of the match: first at the 76th-minute, then the other five minutes later.
Despite the intermittent clashes both on and off the pitch – Marseille fans displayed their anger as they threw projectiles in the stands and police were called in – Tottenham coach Antonio Conte was pleased with the scoreboard result.
“In the end, we got the three points, and it was very important for us to start this competition in the best possible way,” Conte said in a post-match interview.
The win gives Tottenham second place in their UCL group D standings.
