The Future Looks Clean: “Human Washing Machine” Makes Debut

A futuristic vision of personal hygiene is set to debut at the 2025 Osaka Kansai Expo in Osaka, Japan next April. Science Co., a Japanese showerhead manufacturer, is developing a “human washing machine” that promises a unique and relaxing bathing experience.

Inspired by a similar concept showcased at the 1970 Japan World Expo, the new device takes the idea to the next level. Users step into a pod-like enclosure where sensors monitor their vital signs, and adjust the water temperature and pressure for optimal comfort.

While this is happening, the built-in artificial intelligence projects visuals onto the pod’s interior to create a calming atmosphere.

The machine’s innovative technology aims to not only clean the body, but also soothe the mind. It’s designed to provide a comprehensive wellness experience, combining physical cleansing with mental relaxation.

While the primary target market is the hospitality industry, Science Co. also envisions a future where these machines could be found in homes. This futuristic device offers a glimpse into a potential future where personal hygiene and relaxation converge in a single, high-tech experience.
