Solskjaer: No Holes in my Team

Manchester United coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, knows what he wants from his team, and he did not mince his words in a recent interview.

The 47-year-old Norwegian spoke frankly about his squad standards during a talk with the club’s online fanzine, “United We Stand”. He spoke about how vital team synergy is, and how each player can contribute.

He said: “Personality is so important. We’re a team in a team environment. You want players to have a bit of ego and edge, but they have to be able to adapt.”

Then, he bluntly added: “I’d rather have a hole in the squad than an a***hole.”

Solskjaer confided that in March last year, several personal agendas got in the way of building the Red Devils, on top of mental and physical exhaustion. However, the team had come a long way and focused on more positive thinking now.

He confirmed his dedication to United: “I’m a Red through and through. United Matters to me. I’m honest, I’m loyal. I’m a club man.”
