Simon Junior targets more fights
Welterweight boxer Harry Simon Junior’s win against Tsiko Mulovhedzi of South Africa has motivated him to search for more fights outside the borders of Namibia.
The 25-year-old Simon Jr, who defeated 35-year-old former SA welterweight champion Mulovhedzi through a unanimous decision at the international welterweight eight-rounder fight in the Lehlohonolo Ledwaba Memorial tournament, held on 31 July at the Dlamini Hall in Soweto, said the fight has opened up more opportunities for him.
The Namibian boxer added that promoters want him on their cards in South Africa and said that he is busy choosing his next move.
Trained by Jose Kambinda and by his father, the renowned Namibian boxing legend Harry Simon Senior, Simon Junior says more can be expected from him in the welterweight division.
So far, the youthful boxer has a total of 17 undefeated fights, with 11 knockouts.
Following the loss to the Namibian, Mulovhedzi has a total of 26 fights, 12 wins, 11 losses and 3 draws.
