Saudi Arabia Makes Big-Money Offer to Mesut Ozil

Out-of-favour Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil, has reportedly received a lucrative offer from a soccer club in Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old German – who made only 23 appearances during the 2019/2020 English Premier League season – has been constantly linked with a move away from the Gunners, with whom his current deal expires in 2021.

According to recent reports, Al-Nassr – a Saudi Pro League outfit based in Riyadh – has approached Ozil with a contract that would see him earning a whopping £15 million a year.

No doubt that this amount would appeal to Ozil, who is currently Arsenal’s top earner – making £350 000 a week, he was one of the few players to turn down a salary reduction as part of cost-cutting measures induced by the coronavirus.

Al-Nassr apparently wants to sign the midfielder this summer, although they are said to be willing to wait until next summer to sign him for free if a transfer fee cannot be agreed on with the Gunners.

Despite the offer, there have been no indications from Ozil that he is ready to move on from Arsenal.
