Salah Smashes 18-Year Club Record

Footballing superstar, Mohamed Salah, broke a Liverpool record that had previously stood for 18 years on Wednesday, 8 July.

The Reds thumped Brighton & Hove Albion 3-1 last night, with two goals coming off the 28-year-old Egyptian forward’s boot to secure their win.

Salah’s earnesty has increased his odds of winning a third consecutive Golden Boot award after he became the fastest Liverpool player to reach 100 goals in the English Premier League, managing the feat in just 104 club appearances.

However, not everyone was pleased with him.

Reds coach, Jurgen Klopp, picked up that the rest of the team thought Salah was “selfish”.

Klopp said: “I think [the Golden Boot] is important to [Salah] … he was shooting at every opportunity, and his teammates will not have been happy with him on two or three occasions.”

He conceded: “But he’s always been selfish. I think tonight he was super selfish. He really wants his Golden Boot.”
