Roy Keane: Pogba Doesn’t Want to Lead

Manchester United bagged a convincing 3-0 win against Aston Villa F.C. on Thursday night, 9 July – but former United player, Roy Keane, had choice words for Paul Pogba.

The 48-year-old former Red Devils midfielder was speaking to a media outlet after the match, when he said that the 27-year-old French player – who contributed a goal to the winning tally – should “take more of a lead”.

Keane said:” I don’t think [Pogba] wants to be a leader.”

The Irish footballing legend heaped on the criticism: “He wants to be the main guy on social media, but on the pitch he’s thinking, ‘I’ll be glad of that, I’ll just be under the radar.’”

However, Keane did reserve a few good words for Mason Greenwood, the club’s 18-year-old wunderkind who has shown immense promise since joining United in March last year.

He said: “The best part of football is scoring a goal. Good luck to [Greenwood], that’s what dreams are made of. Keep that hunger.”
