Ronaldo Matches Messi Season Record

Cristiano Ronaldo has chalked up another record in European football: scoring more than 25 goals for ten consecutive seasons, thus equalling yet another record by his rival, Lionel Messi.

The 35-year-old Juventus forward scored both goals against AC Milan, but ended up losing 4-2 on Tuesday night, 7 July. Despite the defeat, Ronaldo racked up 26 goals for his team’s 2019/20 Serie A campaign.

This places him right next to the 33-year-old Argentinian superstar with breaking the record since the 2007/08 season.

Messi has consistently scored more than 25 goals per season to achieve the milestone, and looks like he could make it to 11 seasons.

The Messi-Ronaldo rivalry continues to spellbind fans in both camps, and both footballers continue to set records in an unofficial game of tit-for-tat.

Messi has four La Liga games left to play, while Ronaldo has seven in which he can add more goals to this season’s tally.
