Red Devils’ Rojo Caught Breaking Lockdown Rules

Yet another soccer star has been caught flouting coronavirus lockdown rules – this time, it’s Manchester United defender, Marcos Rojo, who has landed in hot water.

The 30-year-old Argentine player is currently on loan at Estudiantes de La Plata in his homeland, which is currently in the midst of a nationwide lockdown that has since been extended to this Sunday, 10 May.

According to government guidelines in Argentina, visiting friends is prohibited, and citizens are allowed to go within 500 metres of their homes for exercise.

In pictures and a video taken by his brother, Franco, Rojo was seen playing poker and smoking with friends in his homeland. These were recently posted to social media, before they were hastily deleted.

This comes after Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, Everton’s Moise Kean, and several other Arsenal and Tottenham players were all criticised for breaking lockdown regulations.

Rojo is expected to be disciplined by United for his rule-breaking actions in due time.
