Recovering Aguero May Miss Rest of UCL Season

Sergio Aguero has said he will likely not return for the remaining Manchester City’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) matches due to the knee injury.
The Argentinian international has been sidelined since June when he required knee surgery in Barcelona. The striker had quickly arranged for the surgery in the hopes that he would recover in time for City’s crucial UCL fixture against Real Madrid.
The Argentine unfortunately missed this fixture, played last Friday, 7 August and he currently remains unfit to feature in City’s quarter-final game against Lyon on Saturday, 15 August 2020.
Per reports, the club’s record goalscorer fears he is losing his race to be fit, and has confided in close friends that the possibility of him recovering in time for the UCL final scheduled for 23 August, are very slim.
Despite already making plans to continue without Aguero, Pep Guardiola remains hopeful that his leading goal scorer could make a dramatic return in time for the UCL final.
Although the forward may not be fit to play, Guardiola wants him to be flown from Barcelona to Portugal to join the team camp and be granted the opportunity to watch their clash against Lyon from the stands.
