Neymar Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Brazilian superstar, Neymar, is reportedly among three Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) players who have tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).

PSG released a statement confirming that three of its players tested positive, and that all necessary coronavirus safety protocols are being applied to avoid further infections.

All three players will remain quarantined for at least seven days and the PSG squad as well as all staff members will be tested regularly over the next few days.

Although the club didn’t reveal the identities of the three players concerned, a close source confirmed the names to be Neymar, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes.

All three individuals contracted the virus whilst on a holiday in Ibiza – a trip several PSG players took following their Champions League final defeat by Bayern Munich.

The Ligue 1 champions are set to start their title defence on Thursday, 10 September, against Lens, and the club might have to kick off the season without those three players or face little time to prepare if they want to feature them.
