Messi Scores Another Barcelona Win and Milestone

Lionel Messi surpassed yet another professional record during Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, 27 November.

The 32-year-old Argentine superstar scored his 700th goal for Barca when teammate Luis Suarez set him up for the landmark goal at the 33rd minute, giving their team the lead.

This means Messi has now scored against 34 different teams in the UEFA Champions League, something no other player has achieved before. He beat out rival Cristiano Ronaldo for the European record, securing another addition to his long list of records.

The visitors proved too much for the home team after Antoine Griezmann stretched the lead to three goals, and the German side scored a consolatory single goal from Jadon Sancho at the 77th minute.

Barcelona now sit on top of Group F with 11 points, Inter Milan and Dortmund are in second place with seven points apiece and Slavia Praha at the bottom with two.
