Manchester City Pay Millions for Teen Player

Manchester City have completed signing up Kluiverth Aguilar for a record transfer fee.

The 16-year-old Peruvian right-back signed up with the Citizens from Allianz Lima on Sunday, 19 April, for €2.8 million – the second highest amount for a footballer leaving the Primera Division of the South American nation.

The agreement states that Aguilar will officially start at City of Manchester Stadium once he turns 18 in May next year.

The young defender made his professional debut for his country’s under-23 team late last year – and while still in school!

He is seen as one of the most talented players of his age in Peruvian football, and has mentioned Brazilian talent, Dani Alves, as a huge influence on his playing style.

In an interview for City’s official website, Aguilar said: “Going to City is something big in my career. I’m happy they have signed me.”
