Man United’s Harry Maguire Receives Prison Sentence

Manchester United skipper, Harry Maguire, has been found guilty of aggravated assault, resisting arrest and bribery.
While vacationing in Mykonos, Greece, the 27-year-old Englishman – who signed with the Red Devils in 2019 – was arrested last Thursday, 20 August, after getting involved in a physical altercation at a nightclub.
The altercation arose after Maguire’s sister, Daisy, was apparently injected with an unknown substance by two Albanian men.
Maguire then allegedly assaulted plain clothes police officers who tried to intervene in the brawl between him and the men, before attempting to pay off other officers after he was brought to a local police station.
Appearing in court on the nearby Greek island of Syros on Tuesday, 25 August, the Man United skipper – who pleaded innocent – was handed a suspended prison sentence of 21 months and 10 days.
In response to the verdict, Maguire has stated his intention to appeal his sentence.
