Manchester United have reportedly sprinted past Liverpool in the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder, Thiago Alcantara.

The 29-year-old footballer – regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world – has been linked with a move to Anfield, following his confession that he would love to work with Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp.

Despite Klopp’s interest in adding the Spaniard to his team, it’s unlikely the move will happen right now.

In order for the midfielder to join Liverpool, Klopp has to sell midfielder, Gini Wijnaldum, who reportedly has plans with Barcelona, but the Reds boss isn’t keen to let him loose just yet.

Thiago is in the final year of his contract at Bayern Munich, and is expected to leave the club for free in January. Klopp is also holding back in the hopes he can scoop him up for free.

However, Bayern Munich CEO, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, has revealed that the club is expecting an offer for Thiago in a few days. Per reports, Man United could be the club set to secure Thiagos’ signature.

The German club’s title-winning machine man could take the pressure off Paul Pogba, and bring a winning attitude into Solskjaer’s young, hungry squad.
