Madonna and Elton John Reunite After Years of Feuding

After years of trading public barbs, music legends Madonna and Sir Elton John have officially called a truce, putting an end to a long-standing feud that began in the early 2000s.
Their rocky relationship dates back to harsh criticism from the 78-year-old pianist in 2004, including branding Madonna’s “Die Another Day” James Bond theme song as dreadful and accusing her of lip-syncing during live performances.
Despite Madonna’s team denying these claims, the tensions lingered for years, flaring up at award shows and in interviews.
But peace was finally made backstage at Saturday Night Live, where John recently performed. Madonna, who attended the show, said she confronted him, only to be met with an immediate apology.
“We Finally Buried the Hatchet!!! [sic]” the 66-year-old “Vogue” songstress announced via Instagram on Monday, 7 April.
“I needed to go backstage and confront him,” she explained before adding: “When I met him, the first thing out of his mouth was, ‘Forgive Me’ and the wall between us fell down. Forgiveness is a powerful tool. Within minutes. We were hugging.”
Madonna went on to reflect on Elton’s early influence, recalling how seeing him live as a teen helped her embrace individuality. Elton, in turn, praised her trailblazing impact on female artists and her AIDS activism.
