Liverpool’s best-paid stars after Nunez deal

With Liverpool having signed striker Darwin Nunez this week, here is where the Uruguay international’s new salary ranks among the Merseyside club’s highest-paid players today!
The Reds confirmed on Tuesday that they had snapped up the former Benfica star on a six-year-old contract, with the two teams having agreed a fee of €75 million (N$1.2 billion), plus €25 million (N$18 million) in potential add-ons, for his services, according to ESPN.
It is understood the 22-year-old will earn about £140 000 (N$2.7 million) a week at Anfield, which places him in joint fifth position among the team’s best-paid players, tied with captain Jordan Henderson.
Despite still being in talks with the board over a new contract, Egypt talisman Mohamed Salah is already one of the Merseysiders’ biggest earners on £200 000 (N$3.8 million) a week.
He is joined by midfielder Thiago in that pay grade, while goalkeeper Alisson Becker is a few spots behind them with a weekly wage of £150 000 (N$2.9 million).
England international Trent Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, takes home a respectable £180 000 (N$3.5 million) every week, a salary that matches the wages of Brazilian duo Fabinho and Roberto Firmino.
A notable omission from the Premier League giants’ 11 highest-paid players is Sadio Mane, who is said to be on £100 000 (N$1.9 million) a week but is expected to soon leave Anfield for Bayern Munich, where he could more than double his current pay package.
