Liverpool have finally claimed what they had been waiting 30 years for on Wednesday night, 22 July, after they beat Chelsea at Anfield Stadium: the English Premier League trophy.

Despite already securing the title last month – when Chelsea scored a 2-1 victory over Manchester City – the Reds went into the game hungry ,and made it an all-out, scoring bonanza with the final scoreboard reflecting 5-3.

The trophy ceremony was an auspicious occasion for Jurgen Klopp’s squad, proving to be the perfect end to a glorious season.

The 53-year-old German manager was smiling ear-to-ear when team captain, Jordan Henderson, lifted the trophy to cheers from his surrounding squad.

Speaking to the media afterwards, an emotional Klopp said: “You want to share these moments with your loved ones – I had my loved ones around me with the staff and the players.”

Congratulations to the champions of England! No doubt there will be throbbing heads today after last night’s celebrations.
