Liverpool Injury Crisis: Alexander-Arnold Ruled Out

Liverpool were hit with another defensive injury as Trent Alexander-Arnold was forced off the field due to calf strain in the second half of the Reds’ 1-1 draw against Man City on Sunday, 8 November 2020.
Alexander-Arnold’s injury may be worse than what a defeat could have done to Liverpool, as the 22-year-old right back’s injury now adds to the growing list of Jurgen Klopp’s sidelined players.
Virgil van Dijk has been ruled out with a long-term injury, and Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are also all currently sidelined by injuries.
Liverpool have not yet confirmed the extent of Alexander-Arnold’s injury and time-frame of recovery, but according to speculation, the England international is expected to be out for up to four weeks.
Klopp has already withdrawn him from England’s international break games and he could still miss Liverpool’s clashes with Leicester, Atalanta, Brighton, Ajax and Wolves.
He might be replaced in the starting XI by 19-year old full back, Neco Williams, who may see it as an opportunity to secure his spot in the first team.
