Three of Liverpool’s players, Jordan Henderson, Sadio Mane and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been named among the seven nominees shortlisted for the 2019/20 Premier League Player of the Season Award.

After a stellar campaign, Liverpool finally lifted their first Premier League silverware in 30 years, finishing 25 points clear of second-placed Man City, with the aforementioned three players all playing a crucial role in the Reds’ title success.

Liverpool’s little magician, Alexander-Arnold, received two nominations for both the younger and the senior version of the award. He is currently the favourite to win the Younger Premier League Player of the Season Award, ending the campaign with 4 goals and 13 assists from right-back – a new record for a defender in the English top flight.

Superstar Sadio Mane, who netted 18 goals and 9 assists for the Reds during their race to the title, is also included on the shortlist. However, the creative winger will face strong competition from his captain.

Liverpool skipper, Jordan Henderson, winner of the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year, also received a nod.

Although Henderson is set to go head-to-head with Man City’s midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, who equalled Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a Premier League season this term – he remains the favourite for the Player of the Year award.
