Liverpool Clip-Klopp All the Way to EPL Title Glory

It has been 30 years in the making, but Liverpool have finally gained the English Premier League (EPL) title after Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1 on Thursday night, 25 June.

The Citizens allowed Liverpool to bag their 19th league trophy, and hand Liverpool an unbeatable 23-point lead on the EPL table to secure their spot as England’s fastest champions in just 31 games. Manchester City is in second place with 63 points.

The Reds not only secured their first title since the 1989/90 campaign, but the team can potentially set three more records with their remaining games.

Well wishes poured in from all corners of the footballing world, and Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, took to Instagram to post his congratulations.

Gerrard posted a photo of the current team and the caption: “Congratulations to all Liverpool on winning the premier league. Incredible achievement from a fantastic squad of top players.”

He wryly added: “And lastly and mostly importantly, the fans who have waited 30 years. Let the party begin.”

Club coach, Jurgen Klopp, wrote a message for the fans on the team’s website: “My message is: it’s for you out there. I hope you feel it.”
