Lil Nas X: Quarantine Has Been Great for My Music
Rapper Lil Nas X says that being stuck at home during lockdown has done wonders for his music-crafting.
The 21-year-old songwriter – real name Montero Lamar Hill – was recently interviewed by Zanna Roberts Rassi during New York Fashion Week and spoke about his creative process.
The “Old Town Road” hitmaker said: “Quarantine has probably been the best thing that could have happened to me to where I am in my career right now. It’s given me so much time to think through while creating music.”
Besides making new music, Lil Nas X has collaborated with fashion designer Christian Cowan for a range of unisex read-to-wear clothing, with the proceeds going toward various organisations benefiting the black queer community in Atlanta, Georgia.
He couldn’t stop singing Cowan’s praises during the interview, saying that he is “excellent at what he does”, and counts the talented fashion designer as a friend.
