Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy Whips Arsenal

History was made at Emirates Stadium in Highbury, England, when Leicester City beat Arsenal 1-0 on Sunday, 25 October – a feat that the club last achieved 47 years ago.
The win was all thanks to replacement striker, Jamie Vardy, who was brought on with 30 minutes left to help the Foxes outsmart the Gunners, with a brilliant header that teammate Cengiz Under sent across the box in the 80th minute.
Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers, said that he would have started the 33-year-old sooner, but had concerns due to a calf injury.
However, he ultimately called on the “world-class striker”, and now he can’t be any happier that his squad got three more points on the English Premier League (EPL) table.
Rodgers said: “The idea was always to bring [Vardy] on, he’s a huge threat and brings confidence to the team.”
The victory means that Leicester now sit in fourth place on the EPL table with 12 points, while Arsenal occupies ninth place with nine points.
