Kendrick Lamar Tops 2025 AMA Nominations with 10 Nods

The 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs) are heating up, with Kendrick Lamar emerging as the frontrunner, earning 10 nominations across key categories, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and multiple entries for Favourite Hip-Hop Song.

Should the 37-year-old rapper sweep all the awards for his nominated categories, he could match the record for the most AMA wins in a single year.

Following close behind, Post Malone scored eight nods, branching into country music with his hit “I Had Some Help” alongside Morgan Wallen. Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey each garnered seven nominations, highlighting a diverse field of emerging and established talent.

SZA is a favourite among female artists with six nominations, while first-time nominee Doechii is recognised in the hip-hop and viral song categories. Taylor Swift, already the most awarded artist in AMA history, is back in contention with six more chances to add to her record.

Hosted by Jennifer Lopez, the 51st AMAs will be broadcast live from Las Vegas, Nevada, on 26 May. Voting is open until 15 May, as fans will once again take centre stage in choosing the winners of one of music’s most fan-driven awards show.
