Kane Video Sees Liverpool Starlet Banned for 14 Days

Liverpool winger, Harvey Elliott, has been banned by the Football Association (FA) from playing domestic club football for 14 days after an investigation into a video of him mocking Tottenham Hotspur star, Harry Kane.

In the video, which was originally recorded on Snapchat, 16-year-old Elliott is seen performing an offensive impersonation of Kane whilst using derogatory language. He later apologised for his actions.

The video was reportedly taken during the 2019 UEFA Champions League final between the Reds and the Spurs in June.

In a statement released on Friday, 11 October, FA confirmed that Elliott was banned after he admitted to breaching the association’s rules by posting the video to social media.

In addition to the ban – which runs up to and includes Thursday, 24 October – the Liverpool starlet must complete a face-to-face education course and pay a £350 fine.

Elliott will also miss the Reds’ clash against Manchester United this Sunday, 20 October.
