Is Lovren Leaving Liverpool for AS Roma?

Liverpool defender, Dejan Lovren, is supposedly in talks to leave the club and transfer to Italian outfit, AS Roma.

The 30-year-old Croatian international – who joined the Reds from Southampton in 2014 for £20 million – was left out of the squad for the UEFA Super Cup final against Chelsea which takes place tonight, Wednesday 14 August.

Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, said that Lovren’s exclusion was due to an illness.

However, media reports claim that he is unhappy with being relegated to Klopp’s fourth choice central defender – behind the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip – and is seeking to depart the club as a result.

The Reds are rumoured to be in talks with Roma about the future of Lovren, with the Italian club ready to offer £15 million for his services.

It is said that the two clubs hope to reach a deal before the transfer window closes in Europe on 31 August.
