Guardiola: Man City Deserves an Apology

Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, says the club deserves an apology after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) overturned their two-year ban from European competition.
On Monday, 13 July, the CAS lifted the ban that was imposed upon the Citizens by European football’s governing body, UEFA, over alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play between 2012 and 2016.
Other English Premier League club coaches – notably Jose Mourinho of Tottenham Hotspur, and Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool – criticised the CAS’ ruling, Mourinho called it a “disgraceful decision.”
Speaking at a pre-match conference on Tuesday, 14 July, Guardiola demanded that his club “be apologised to.”
He said: “[I’m] incredibly happy for the decision, which shows what all the people said about the club was not true, and to defend on the pitch what we won on the pitch.”
The Spanish coach added: “We don’t expect Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea or Wolves, or all the clubs, to defend us, but we have the right to defend ourselves when we believe what we have done is correct, and three independent judges said this.”
