Namibia’s Richelieu Eagles was unable to dislodge the host team in the first of four matches in the triangular series of one-day international in Glasgow against Scotland and Nepal.
The Scottish batting total of 258/6 was enough to beat Namibia by 77 runs, with Gerhard Erasmus and his team only replying with 181 all out (43 overs).
George Munsey (71 not out) was Scotland’s top batsman, while Safyaan Sharif being named player of the match (five wickets for 35).
Lo-han Louwrens (47 off 85 balls) made the most runs for Namibia along with Nicol Loftie-Eaton (50 off 58 balls), but the Eagles were always behind the play.
Namibia play the first match against Nepal on Tuesday, before their rematch with Scotland on Thursday.
