On or off the pitch, Neymar just can’t seem to win – even though the Brazilian did not take to the grass during the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Nimes match yesterday, 11 August, fans made their displeasure of him known.

The home crowd showed their frustrations at the 27-year-old football superstar during the Ligue 1 game, with loud chants of “Son of a b****”, and flashing banners demanding he “Get out” of the club.

PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel, tried to sympathise to the displays responded with

He said: “Can I understand it? Yes and no. [Neymar’s] still our player, my player and I protect all my players. He’s in the dressing room. I can understand that not everyone has liked what he has said and done.”

Neymar has been unable to bring his dazzling form to his French club, which has coveted the Champions League title with hungry eyes for some time now.
