Project Never Walk Alone founder Tim Ekandjo says he has been working hard in the gym and is ready to showcase some of his hidden boxing skills in October.

Last month, the project introduced an exciting fundraising initiative titled the PNWA Namibia Catchweight Title.

The MTC chief of human capital and corporate affairs will come up against musician The Dog in what is expected to be an interesting boxing bout for charity.

Ekandjo, who has acquired the service of renowned boxing trainers, says he is ready to “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.”

He aded: “I can tell you, right now my body feels ready and I am ready to put up a great show on the day.

“As a person who has been attending many boxing events, I believe my skills are on par with those of top boxing stars,” he said.

The two will trade leather in a five-round bout, with both boxers aiming for a victory.

The event is scheduled for 15 October at the Windhoek Country Club and Resorts with VIP tables selling for only N$20 000, inclusive of drinks and dinner and premium tickets going for N$500.

The night will see five professional undercards of national titles voted for by the public.

Big and exciting

Project Never Walk Alone have put together an exciting line up of performances from Namibia’s best artists, DJ Vuyo, Adora, Royal Ndappy, Twazis, Ann Singer, Ethnic, Bunger Drums, Cassidy Karon, TopCheri, Tate Buti, Gazza, One Blood, Maranatha, Manxebe, Dee A and a special performance by Jerusalema hit maker Master KG from South Africa.

All proceeds raised through this event will go towards helping children in need. Tables and tickets are available at Webtickets.

King Tee Dee promised the public a spectacular boxing performance as he comes with speed and confidence, although he refused to disclose his trainer.

Both fighters still have three months to prepare for this fight and they will be in different regions as part of marketing the event.

The project is said to have already successfully delivered 4 890 pairs of shoes to children in the Hardap, Omaheke, Erongo and Kavango East regions.

It is believed there are still over 70 000 barefooted children patiently waiting for their turn for a brand new pair of shoes.

The event is sponsored by Standard Bank, CSS Tactical Solutions and Redforce Debt Management.
