Dark Clouds Gather Over Emery

Arsenal boss Unai Emery is staring into the void after his team suffered a 2-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt at Emirates Stadium on Thursday night, 28 November.

The game was a scrappy contest in front of a bored crowd as Frankfurt fought to get two goals on the home side who – after missing several chances – scored only one.

The result means that Arsenal missed an opportunity to secure a place in the Europa League knock-out stages.

As the final whistle was blown, Emery looked like a grave man, his hands deep in his pockets, looking like he was utterly spent.

The defeat is another in a long string of poor performances from the Gunners. Several players have left the club, and the chorus of fans calling for the 48-year-old Spaniard’s sacking is growing.

Arsenal last enjoyed a victory on 24 October when they won 3-2 over Portuguese team Vitoria – over seven games ago.
