Club Responds to Dortmund Players Breaking Lockdown Rules

Borussia Dortmund’s management has its hands full with six players breaking lockdown protocol last week for a variety of reasons, but the Bundesliga club has taken the time to address the issue.

Germany’s top-tier football competitions have set in place strict regulations in recent weeks in the build-up to its restart.

However, several Black and Yellow players – including Jadon Sancho, Raphael Guerreiro, Thorgan Hazard, and at least three other players – have been accused of disregarding those procedures to see a hairdresser.

The players all received home visits from hairdresser Winnie Nana Karkari to get haircuts, but none wore a mask.

The club responded to a local publication, saying: “It is pretty common that our guys must get a haircut after all these months. But it surely is a no-go, from both sides, to not wear a mask.”

They concluded with the promise to remind their footballers “very, very clearly” of the strict protocols.

Many Bundesliga teams have begun gearing up ahead of the restart on Friday, 5 June.
