Chelsea’s Plan Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard, has instructed the club’s first-team squad to enter a two-week self-isolation, following the news of Callum Hudson-Odoi testing positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).
Although the Premier League, the Champions League and other major European sporting events have been postponed, Chelsea plans to open its training centre early next week.
Players will be back at the Cobham Training Centre on Monday morning, even though a handful fo English clubs told their players to stay away for a while.
The Blues have also decided to offer the NHS staff working in London hospitals accommodation at the Millennium hotel on the Stamford Bridge stadium site.
The statement released by the club read: “The initiative came from club owner Roman Abramovich and, after contact with the NHS was made by Chairman Bruce Buck, it was decided the best way Chelsea can assist the NHS is to provide accommodation for NHS staff.”
The club added: “Mr Abramovich will be covering the costs of providing the accommodation.”
