Chelsea’s Danny Drinkwater Headbutts Villa Player

On-loan Chelsea midfielder, Danny Drinkwater, is in trouble after he got into a physical altercation with an Aston Villa team-mate during a recent training session.

The 30-year-old Englishman – who signed with the Blues from Leicester City in 2017 for £35 million – joined Villa on loan in early January.

Drinkwater had been partaking in a practice session on Tuesday, 10 March, at Villa’s training ground in Bodymoor Heath, when the incident occurred.

According to reports, Drinkwater headbutted Spanish international, Jota. As a result, the on-loan midfielder was sent home by club manager, Dean Smith. It is currently unknown what prompted the incident in the first place.

Nevertheless, Drinkwater’s future at Aston Villa is apparently in doubt, and he may face being fined two weeks’ wages and getting sent back to his parent club.

The incident comes nearly seven months after Drinkwater was involved in a nasty nightclub brawl in Manchester.
