Chelsea Plan to Overhaul Eight Players

Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, is reportedly planning to sell eight players during the summer transfer window, after his side was humiliated 3-0 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday, 25 February.

Lampard’s first season in charge of Chelsea was always going to be tough, but Bayern Munich sent him an early reality check – that he’ll have to sign new quality players in order to stay competitive against big teams.

Lampard has faced challenges with the team’s defence throughout the season, rotating between using a back four and three centre-halves, but now admits that the team needs to be improved.

The Blues’ legend failed to sign players during the January transfer window, despite Chelsea’s transfer ban being overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and to compensate Lampard intends to go on a transfer spree.

He has already secured a deal for Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech and is reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho, Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell and RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano.

Although the list of eight players who will be shown the exit door isn’t confirmed, rumour suggests that Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ross Barkley, Jorginho, Kurt Zouma, Willian, Pedro and Marcos Alonso will soon be on their way out.
