Carlo Ancelotti on Arsenal’s Radar

Arsenal are reportedly looking to sign former Napoli coach, Carlo Ancelotti, to replace Unai Emery.

The news comes soon after Ancelotti was unceremoniously fired by Napoli, in the wake of the Italian club’s poor performances that have left them languishing in seventh place on the Serie A table.

The 60-year-old Italian coach was sacked just one hour after he led his side to a 4-0 victory over Genk on Tuesday evening, 10 December – the club’s first win in 10 matches in all competitions.

Per reports, Ancelotti is a candidate that Arsenal are currently considering for the position of head coach, which was previously held by Emery until he was fired two weeks ago.

Other potential candidates include Marcelino and Paulo Sousa, although neither are “being viewed as a leading contender” for the job.

Manchester City assistant, Mikel Arteta, is also being considered, but the Gunners are not ruling out Ancelotti, who has also coached the likes of Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
