Bruce Lee’s Daughter Decries Tarantino’s Latest Film

Quentin Tarantino’s new film, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, is receiving harsh criticism from Bruce Lee’s family due to how the martial arts legend is portrayed in the film.

The comedic drama set in the late 1960s was released in the US on 26 July, and has received acclaim from many critics; however, harsh words towards the film have come from an unlikely source: Shannon Lee – Bruce Lee’s daughter.

Tarantino mentioned in an interview that Bruce Lee was “kind of an arrogant guy”.

He went on: “The way [Bruce Lee] was talking, I didn’t just make a lot of that up. I heard him say things like that, to that effect.”

Shannon Lee took offense to Tarantino’s words, and claimed that the movie disrespects her father’s legacy by depicting him as an “arrogant a******” and an annoyance to his friends and family.

When asked what Tarantino could do to fix the issue, she said that the director could “shut up about it”, in reference to the “Pulp Fiction” director’s words.

Shannon added: “It was really uncomfortable to sit in the theatre and listen to people laugh at my father.”
