Body of Missing “Glee” Actress Found
The body of missing actress, Naya Rivera, has been found and recovered from a lake in Ventura, California.
According to Ventura County sheriff, Bill Ayub, the 33-year-old’s body was found and identified on Monday, 13 July, in an area of Lake Piru where there was dense vegetation.
Ayub said: “We are confident the body we found is that of Naya Rivera … there is no indication this was foul play and no indication this was a suicide.”
Rivera – who rose to fame on the 2009 television show, “Glee” – went missing at the lake last Wednesday, 8 July, while enjoying an afternoon of swimming with her four-year-old son, Josey Dorsey.
Dorsey was later found sleeping alone in the pontoon boat that his mother had rented. Ayub explained that the youngster told investigators that Rivera had pushed him back into the boat before he saw her disappear beneath the waters.
The sheriff said: “[Rivera] must have mustered enough energy to get her son back on the boat, but not enough to save herself.”
Rivera’s body has been taken to the local medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
