Bernard promises fireworks

Boxing coach Joseph Bernard spoke specifically about the six-round lightweight fight between his son, Michael Bernard, and Dominikus Weyulu.

“It’s going to be a re-match between the two so it will be a cracker,” he said.

The two boxers are itching to get back into the ring as they fought different opponents on 7 November in the MTC Nestor Tobias Together as One Boxing Bonanza held at the Windhoek Country Club. This was a great offering for fans in the capital who were action starved because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The stable also hosted its first 10-bout amateur boxing tournament on 31 October.

What transpired

In that fight, Bernard drew with Frans Naanda and Weyulu was defeated by Sebastian Nathaniel.

In the super-bantamweight four-rounder, Julius Sheetheni and Nelson Hango will square off.
