Aston Villa have agreed to a multi-million-pound deal with Norwich City to sign their forward, Emiliano Buendia.

In a statement released on Monday, 7 June, Villa confirmed the news about the 24-year-old Argentine’s transfer to the Canaries.

They said: “As Emiliano is currently in the Argentina national team’s biosecure bubble, preparing for a World Cup qualifying match with Colombia on Tuesday evening, he will undergo a medical and complete the transfer after the game.”

Per reports, Villa beat out Arsenal for the signature of Buendia: his new club were the first to meet Norwich’s demands of £33 million with add-ons, making him both Villa’s record signing and Norwich’s record sale.

No doubt the forward will strive to make an impact at Villa: thanks to his performances on the pitch, he was instrumental in getting the Canaries promoted from the English Football League Championship to the English Premier League this year.
